A drug deal gone bad is what investigators believe led to the murders of La Romaine brothers—Maurice and Randy Leshmore—and their brother-in-law Kwasi Vincent on Sunday night. Police are working with the theory that one or more of them may have been involved in a recent drug transaction in which payment was still outstanding. They were unable to say whether all three victims and their neighbour, Kevin Williams, who was shot in the thigh, were involved in the deal.

Williams, 42, of Pond Street, was still warded in a stable condition at the San Fernando General Hospital yesterday. So far no arrests have been made but investigators said they were making progress. Autopsies on the men showed they died from shock and haemorrhage as a result of the gunshot wounds.

Around 10.15 pm on Sunday, the four victims were liming at a relative’s home behind Nana’s parlour when they were ambushed by three masked men. The Leshmore brothers were made to lie on the ground before being executed and Vincent and Williams were shot as they tried to escape.
