Four Belmont men have been held in connection with the attack against renowned priest Father Clyde Harvey and are expected to be placed on identification parades this weekend.
Harvey, who has described the three men who attacked and threatened to kill and kidnap him as “stupid boys,” is expected to visit a police station in the Port-of-Spain Division for an ID parade this weekend.
The four were held during a police exercise in the area led by ASP Ajith Persad yesterday morning.
According to a media release issued by the Archdiocese, Harvey was robbed of $1,000 and his cellphone after three bandits broke into the presbytery at the St martin de Porres church in Gonzales, Belmont, around 5 am on Monday.
The thieves, who reportedly got onto the compound by jumping a wall and breaking in through a side door, tied up Harvey and threatened to kill him. However, Harvey managed to escape and run to a nearby home where he called the police and Archbishop Joseph Harris.
