Police are investigating the death of an 81-year-old pensioner whose decomposing body was found at a Claxton Bay hotel yesterday morning. According to reports, 31-year-old Clint Lutchmin went to the Cara Suites Hotel, St Margaret’s Village, around 10.30 am to visit his friend, Kumar Lutchmansingh. When he entered the suite he found Lutchmansingh dead on a couch. Homicide officers, along with WPC Harrynath, visited the scene. Officers said there were no marks of violence about the body.
Lutchmansingh was last seen alive last Friday and his body was in the early stages of decomposition. Not much was known about him but hotel staff said he had been living at the hotel for some time and suffered from several medical conditions. DMO Dr Ramgoolam examined the body and it was taken to the San Fernando mortuary as police are yet to determine whether the death was natural, accidental or homicidal. An autopsy is expected to be done today.
