When Silvan Alladin went to the home of his cousin Rasheeda Alladin before killing her husband and two of their children, he claimed he was seeking shelter after an argument with his wife. Hafeeza Alladin, Rasheeda’s mother, said they spoke on Sunday at the San Fernando General Hospital where Rasheeda revealed the ordeal of how her husband Beryco Subhan, 46, and two of their children — Sherifa, 15, and Musa, four — met their tragic fates.

In an interview yesterday, Hafeeza said when they spoke, Rasheeda said Alladin hid in his Nissan Sunny B13 car until they returned to their Ackbar Trace, Fyzabad, home on Thursday night.
Hafeeza said: “She said that he came in the night. He was hiding and they did not see his car. “All of a sudden he walked up to them when she and her husband reached home and said, ‘girl, long time I haven’t seen you all. Me and my wife had a little misunderstanding and I came to spend the night with you all.’” Rasheeda, a dairy farmer, told Alladin she was tired and she had to carry milk to Point Lisas early Friday morning.

As Subhan made the bed, Alladin asked him to step outside the house so they could have a conversation. Moments later Rasheeda heard her husband scream and saw Alladin running towards her with a knife.  “He ran inside and held her by her hair,” said Rasheeda’s mother. “He was going to slit her throat and she ‘brakes’ and he ended up cutting the left side of her neck. “She ran by the neighbour and got help because this man was trying to kill everybody.” Hafeeza said both Laila, nine, and Salim, seven, who escaped, visited their mother at the hospital on Saturday before attending the funeral of their father, sister and brother. She said the ordeal has been too much for the children as they cried constantly.
