National bodybuilding heavyweight champion Richard Noel will be seeking to defend his title today in the Sportworld Classic competition at Centre of Excellence from 6.30 pm. Other T&T body builders competing at the event include Ronald Brooks, Todd Martin, Demetre Thomas and Kelton Thomas. More than 50 participants, including a Barbadian team will compete in categories that comprises Novice, Masters, Lightweight, Middleweight, Light-Heavy Weight, Heavyweight and Women’s Figure Open.
Jamaican-born American Shawn Rhoden and American Cedric McMillan will also make guest appearances at the show. The winner in the Men’s overall heavyweight category will walk away with $12,000, while the Women’s overall heavyweight champion will win $5,000. The organisers believe this year’s event will be the biggest, with lots of displays and giveaways. Tickets are available today for $180 at all leading Francis Fashion Shoe Locker outlets, Bio Fitness (West Mall) and Body Glow (Long Circular Mall) or attendees can pay $200 at the door.
