Yes, it's still legal to carpool on the Priority Bus Route...at least for one more month.
Use of the Priority Bus Route (PBR) by private motor vehicles has been extended for one month, effective July 1st, a release from the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure said. The extension expires on July 31st.
The same conditions of use remain in force. The PBR is open on Monday to Friday from 4 to 6 a.m. and from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. A minimum of three (3) persons inclusive of driver remains applicable.
No commercial/goods vehicles will be allowed access to the PBR during these times. No private vehicles will be allowed to conduct taxi services on the PBR at any given time.
During the month of July 2013, "an assessment will be conducted by the Committee on the success of the scheme and a decision will be made as to its future viability in the realm of traffic alleviation along the East-West Corridor", the release said.
