Vikash Mohan, who lead the national Under-19 cricket team last season, has been included in a 14 man squad for the West Indies Cricket Board U-19 tournament in St Kitts from July 17 to August 21.
An experienced squad, including six players from last year’s team will make their return to the unit. These players are Mohan, Jovan Ali, Al Small, Andy Gobin, Brian Christmas and Jeremy Solozano. The team will be without the services of hard-hitting wicket-keeper batsman Nicholas Pooran. Pooran is unavailable because he was selected to represent the T&T Red Steel in the Caribbean Premier League, which runs from July 30 to August 24.
The team, which will be led by coach Kelvin Williams, includes three Vishnu Boys Hindu College players. Mohan, Gobin and newcomer Bryan Boodram all played an instrumental role in Vishnu Boys earning promotion to the Premier Division of the Secondary Schools Cricket League next year.
