Controversial Life Sport coordinator Rajaee Ali was among six people who appeared in court this afternoon charged with conspiring to murder popular radio announcer Kevaughn “Lurbz” Savory.
Ali, Keshorn Dempster, Brent La Croix, Brandon Borneo, Ismael Ali and Donna Dyer were all remanded into custody after they appeared before Nanette Forde-John in the Port-of-Spain Eight Magistrate Court for a series of charges under the Anti-Gang Act and for a planned attack on Savory in Port-of-Spain last Thursday.
Savory is employed with radio station SLAM 100.5FM.
All six were charged for being gang members and for possessing a firearm and ammunition with intent to commit a gang related activity.
All except Rajaee Ali were charged for intending to use the firearm under the direction of a gang leader.
Ismael Ali was charged for possession of a firearm and ammunition with intent to endanger life and for assualting a man when he was arrested with Dempster, La Croix, Borneo and Dyer last week.
Ali was subsequently arrested this week by detectives of the Criminal Gang and Intelligence Unit (CGIU).
The group was not called upon to plead to the charges, which were laid indictably.
They will reappear in court on December 22.
