T&T's most wanted man Azmon Alexander was captured by police in Malabar around 10 am today.
Police from the Northern Division Task Force and the Crime Patrol Unit received a tip-off and went to Lennox Yearwood Boulevard, Malabar, where they later saw Alexander in a green car.

Police stopped the car and arrested Alexander who, although armed with a cutlass, did not resist arrest. The driver of the car was also arrested. Alexander is now being held at the Arima Police Station.

Alexander was wanted in connection with the disappearance of Irma Rampersad, 49, her daughters Felicia, 17, and Jennelle, 19, and her grand-daughter 14-month-old Shania Amoroso, who were abducted from their Brasso Seco home on October 26.
A family friend, Felix Martinez, 52, also went missing two days later after initially being believed to have gone hunting.

Martinez and Amoroso were found dead wrapped in a blanket off a precipice in the forest, while Rampersad was found dead days later. An autopsy revealed both Martinez and Rampersad were strangled, but the autopsy on baby Shania was inconclusive due to the advanced state of decomposition.

Sisters Felicia and Jennelle were rescued by police on November 14 after the police were involved in a shootout with the men who were guarding the sisters at a makeshift camp .
Alexander, who escaped from the Mayaro Magistrates' Court earlier this year, was believed to have stayed ahead of the police for this long by wearing women's clothing and may have also had help from family members.
Acting Commissioner of Police, Stephen Williams has commended the police for capturing Alexander and those who were involved in the overall search.

Full details in tomorrow's Guardian.
