Clean-up and repairs to Petrorin’s Well Wilson 78 (WN-78) have been completed and normal operations have resumed at the company’s Penal/Barrackpore facilities.
This follows an incident on Monday when a two-inch union on the WN-78 well head parted, resulting in an oil and gas spill. The company said the oil spilled within Station WN- 3 bund wall was recovered and clean up works at the Gathering Station are 90 per cent completed.
Petrotrin’s HSE, security, communications, medical, production and legal and land management personnel were still on site yesterday attending to the needs of the residents and ensuring that operations returned to normal.
