The host of Crime Watch, Ian Alleyne, was again bombarded with cases this week. One such case led him to his home town of Chaguanas to visit the home and funeral of another fallen Chaguanas CD vendor “Noisy,” who ended his life after a domestic dispute with his wife of eight years. “Noisy” hanged himself at his mother’s home in Chaguanas after a night of partying with his wife and some friends at a popular bar in Central.
Alleyne inquired from family and friends on both sides of the family as to what exactly drove the young man to take his own life. Tempers quickly escalated among family members as each side pleaded their case. Alleyne discovered that there was domestic abuse in the relationship and that the CD vendor who had reached his limit ended his life. It was alleged his wife was dancing with another man while he went to purchase a bottle of alcohol. When he returned they began to argue.
The argument escalated to a physical fight which ended with both parties being taken to the police station just a few hours before the suicide. In another story, Alleyne continued investigations in Arena, Freeport, where he aired footage of a drive-by shooting at a popular bar in Central. A group of friends were liming outside the bar when suddenly a vehicle pulled up and a gunman began shooting, hitting a male patron who it is alleged was the target.
Alleyne, who has information about the shooting, stated on air that he is coming for the gunmen. The victim was warded at the hospital. In another story, Alleyne contacted Dr Andy Bhagwandass to assist Marissa Pavy who underwent a C-section at the San Fernando General Hospital over a year ago.
Pavy, who has been experiencing excruciating pain, discovered that after the surgery a paper clip was inside her uterus. Pavy has been unsuccessful in getting medical assistance from the hospital and health facilities.
Further, Alleyne aired footage of another parent who brutally abused her son with a shovel. The incident, which was aired on social networks, quickly went viral. The enraged and disgusted Alleyne quickly contacted the Attorney General Anand Ramlogan to get involved in the matter and to seek justice for the abused child. Alleyne stated, “Disciplining your child does not mean treating a child like an animal.” The Attorney General assured Alleyne that he was aware of the incident and that the authorities were looking into the matter.
A security guard came to Crime Watch begging Alleyne to help her get her salary from her employer who has refused to pay her. It was alleged by the guard that her boss, Anthony, claimed Ian had money for him. Alleyne quickly became enraged and urged Anthony to be careful with his words, because “I, Ian Alleyne don’t owe anyone money.” Alleyne promised to go to the office of the security company to clear the matter up the following day.
Breakthroughs
Alleyne retrieved a stolen phone from a man who claimed he never stole the phone from a hearing impaired woman in San Fernando, but purchased it from a friend. The woman and her family were grateful to Ian and Crime Watch for their quick response in recovering the stolen item.
Unsolved cases
Investigations continue into the stabbing incident between Malika Nedd of Beetham and her fiancé’s ex-girlfriend and the drive-by shooting in Arena, Freeport, which has left one man warded in the hospital.
