Marijuana with a street value of $1.6 million was seized by the police over the weekend along the Solomon Hochoy Highway. Between 11 am and 4.30 am on Friday, officers from the Northern Division Task Force and the Criminal Gang Intelligence Unit headed by Sgt Pitt were near Dump Road area where they saw two men coming out of a bushy area holding buckets and plastic bags. The officers then searched the buckets and bags and found 16.5 kilogrammes of marijuana.
Two men from Claxton Bay ages 30 and 26 were arrested.
