Canada visa centre closed

The Candaian Visa Application Centre (VAC) in Port-of-Spain has been closed until further notice. A statement said yesterday the centre is undergoing a restructuring and reorganisation in order to maintain a high level of client service. The statement said in the interim and to assist them with this process, the High Commission of Canada in Port-of-Spain will be accepting in-person and mail-in applications.

 

However, the centre in Georgetown, Guyana, has been not affected and remains open to receive applications. All applications submitted via the VAC Georgetown will continue to be processed and returned once finalised as usual, the statement said. The centre listed several guidelines for T&T applicants: 

 

 

Updated application procedures 
• Applications for temporary resident visas and permanent resident travel documents should be mailed to:

• Applications can also be submitted via the in person drop-box service at the High Commission of Canada in Port of Spain during public opening hours:
Monday through Thursday: 8 am to 10 am
 • Applicants may apply ON-LINE and submit their passport only once requested by the High Commission of Canada.

PLEASE NOTE: All applications (mail-in or drop-box) Must include a prepaid courier return envelope. There will be no in-person passport pick-up.

 

 Applications in progress: 
If you have recently applied for visa through the services at the centre in Port- of- Spain, your application will be processed, finalised and returned to you directly by the High Commission of Canada. All applications in process and all passports from finalised applications have been transferred to the High Commission of Canada. You will be contacted shortly for the return of your passport and documents.

 

 

The VAC in Georgetown, Guyana, is not affected and remains open to receive applications. All applications submitted via the VAC Georgetown will continue to be processed and returned once finalized as usual. 

 

 

Applicants requiring biometrics:
If you are required to submit your biometrics, you may do so at the VAC in Georgetown, Guyana, or any other VAC office worldwide. You may also submit your biometrics at the High Commission of Canada in Port of Spain, through appointment only.
