It’s nothing personal. So said former national security minister Jack Warner who said he held nothing against Local Government and Works and Infrastructure Minister Dr Surujrattan Rambachan. Warner, at his recent rally in Felicity, claimed Rambachan was a “vindictive” man. But fielding questions from reporters during his visit to Sea Lots yesterday, Warner said: “If he (Rambachan) were here I would meet him and greet him as anybody else...I have nothing against the minister as a person.

“I do not look at people for who they are, I look at them for what they do or what they have failed to do,” he added. Saying “in the fullness of time” everything shall be revealed, Warner said he would hold a press conference next week at the Centre of Excellence, Macoya. The findings of three “renowned jurists” who have critiqued the Concacaf report would be revealed, Warner added.

“I am printing 25,000 copies to give to every home in Chaguanas West and let them see for themselves what three world-renowned jurists have said about the Concacaf report and let them make their own judgment,” he said. “And they would tell me whether any minister of my calibre should ever have been even remotely considered to be a causality of the Concacaf report.” He added the critique had paid “rich dividends” for him.

The former minister said he was not bitter but was rather “sorry” for the People's Partnership Government because the “goodwill” which was inherited had eroded. “I am not bitter at all against anybody. Why should I be bitter? The guys who sat down and made judgment on me without giving me a chance to hear my side of the story...why should I be bitter?” Warner said.

“It was properly choreographed and so on. I don’t talk to any Cabinet member and I thank one man only at this point for giving me good advice.” Praising Sport Minister Anil Roberts, Warner said it was Roberts who encouraged him to get the three jurist to examine the report.

Warner said: “On Saturday, they knew I was coming here. On Monday he (Rambachan) called a meeting with his staff at the Ministry of Works to say he would be here before me...to demonise me, of course, as always. “He cancelled it at the last minute...I guess he got the proper advise from his colleagues.” Rambachan is in Uganda.
