National Security Minister Gary Griffith yesterday urged young adults and children to join various clubs to help decrease aggression and learn discipline. Griffith was speaking with members of the media yesterday after the T&T Cadet Force 104th anniversary church parade at the Santa Rosa RC Church in Arima. His comments came on the heels of an upsurge in violence among school children. “As a Minister of National Security we can find a level playing field here with the Cadets.

“We could look at Brownies and Scouts for girls in primary school and Cadets in secondary schools towards enhancing our youths in society.” He said these groups involves critical aspects to develop the youths in society. “It involves discipline, respect, camaraderie, and utilises their energy in the right manner, “he said. Griffith said he plans to establish the Cadet Force in every secondary school.

“To find a mechanism to give a degree of discipline. We need to find a mechanism to take away their energy from being involved in criminal activity,” he said.
