Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has travelled to Fort Lauderdale, Florida to attend the funeral service of a family member.
Persad-Bissessar is to return to Trinidad and Tobago on Thursday evening.
Winston Dookeran, Minister of Foreign Affairs, will act as Prime Minister.
