The Law Association of Trinidad and Tobago (LATT) has passed a motion of no confidence against Chief Justice Ivor Archie and is now calling on him to step down from his position.
The decision was taken at a special general meeting of the association at the Hall of Justice in Port-of-Spain this evening.
At the meeting, attorneys were asked to vote on whether they have lost confidence in Archie and the Judicial and Legal Service Commission (JLSC), arising out of recent developments involving former chief magistrate Marcia Ayers-Caesar and her selection as a High Court judge.
