An attorney who allegedly failed a breathalyser test with a high reading of 150 microgrammes has pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Dave Maharaj, 50, of San Fernando, was arrested on Monday and appeared before San Fernando Traffic Court Magistrate Natalie Diop charged with driving under the influence yesterday.
He was arrested in Marabella after he was stopped by the police and subsequently tested. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes, which meant he was allegedly above the limit by 115 microgrammes.
Maharaj was taken to the Marabella Police Station where he was charged and granted his own bail.
Maharaj was represented by attorney Ainsley Lucky. The magistrate allowed his bail to continue and adjourned the matter to August 11. —SW
