Justice Frank Seepersad is expected to rule on whether he will be granting the request of former minister Devant Maharaj to temporarily stop citizens from submitting property tax forms.
The ruling, which was delayed earlier today to allow the state to be heard on the matter, is expected to be delivered at 5.45 pm.
Maharaj filed an ex parte application before Seepersad in the San Fernando high court for leave to file for judicial review challenging the state's move to compel citizens to submit the property tax forms.
Maharaj through his attorneys led by Anand Ramlogan SC is contending that the property tax form and process are illegal, unconstitutional and ultra vires.
Two days ago finance minister Colm Imbert extended the May 22 deadline by two weeks after the rush to submit forms.
