Where the money going?
This was one of several concerns raised by politician Mickela Panday at the launch of a campaign to inform citizens of the implications of the property tax which was held at the Radisson Hotel, Port-of-Spain yesterday. Panday, along with attorney Vashist Maharaj, said her group intended to traverse the country especially far-flung areas to listen to concerns.
Panday also suggested that the law be amended so as to make the Government more accountable as to how the money would be spent. She said while it was a fact that property was the the law she said, however, it was disturbing that there was no word from Government as to where the money would be pumped.
Maharaj said the money would most likely go into the consolidated fund but there was no word from Government on how it would be used.
