Welder held with home-made shotguns

A 32-year-old welder is expected to appear before an Arima Magistrate today charged with possession of two home-made shotguns, a bullet-proof vest and camouflage outfit.

The man was held by officers of the Northern Division Task Force led by Sgt Matthew Haywood after a search warrant was carried out at his Todds Road, Caparo home.

Police said they seized the items along with nine rounds of ammunition during the search around 12.30 pm on Saturday.

The exercise also included constables Andrews, De Suze and Thomas along with Cpl Sookram. PC De Suze is continuing investigations.

The two shotguns nine rounds of ammunition, bullet proof vest and camouflage Kit seized by officers attached to the Northern Division Task Force.
